“I’ve never felt so lost. I feel completely alone in any situation, I’m in a program I don’t like and have no idea where it will take me, I have no career path set, I still live at home and everyday feels the same, I barely know who I am or what I want in the future, I hate every aspect of my life right now.” October 31st, 2018.
I recently found this note in my phone and I was in disbelief. In that moment, I was stunned by how far I’ve come. Since putting myself and my health as priority #1, my experience and outlook on life has turned upside down in ways I could have never perceived.
And it hasn’t felt like work to get here. You see improving the self rarely feels like work because as you ‘work’ on yourself, your serotonin levels spike, giving you a sense of accomplishment. You feel good! It’s that simple. If feeling good sounds nice to you, continue reading. If not, continue living life on auto-pilot.
In 2018 after breaking up with my first girlfriend and high school sweetheart of almost 4 years, I was in a dark place, as you can tell from my note. This is precisely the year I decided I was going to transform myself. I turned to YouTube, as I was already addicted to the platform and I soon discovered there is an abundance of advice that could help me turn my life around.
Soon, I learned a wealth of social skills and started to apply them. This dramatically changed my outlook on my self and who I am. I went from shy introvert who questions everything he says, to confident, well-spoken man who says what he says with authority.
Next, I started to take care of my body. I started to lift weights 4-5 times a week. Seeing my strength and muscle gains over weeks and months was a massive boost to my self-confidence. I can not put into words how beneficial escaping the mind and getting into the body can be for someone in a depressive state.
My self improvement continued. I learned about my goals and dreams, how to attract women, proper grooming, fashion tips, the best bodybuilding exercises; anything to improve my quality of life.
Today, I’ve moved out of my parents home, I’m finishing up a university degree, I’m in great shape and feel great, I can control my thoughts and feelings, I’ve discovered my purpose in life, I’ve got a beautiful new girlfriend, and feel as though I can achieve any thing I put my mind to.
If your path sounds similar to mine, or if you’re at the same place I was two years ago, make a conscious decision to change your life, right NOW.
When you make yourself the priority in your life, it allows you to find love in yourself, which allows you to find love for life, and all the people in it.
However, understand this: you will need to step out of your comfort zone. The comfort zone is where all growth goes to die. Stepping out of it is the only way to grow. Think of cell divison – there’s always a phase of disturbance that is inherent with moving forward of division.
Understand you’ll have to give up things to reach your goals. You will need to change your habits and develop new ones. But to clarify again, improving yourself will not feel like work if you know it’ll benefit the future You.
My goal with this blog and YouTube channel is to share with you everything I wish I had learned growing up, before I discovered who I truly am through self-actualization. If I can change even 1 life, that’ll be enough for me.
Although I may not have trained certification, I can assure you that I am a life-long learner obsessed and passionate about how we can reach our full potentials.
Use my free advice as a resource on your path towards self-mastery.
